Autumn Creek Branson
Winter in Branson
Branson slows down a bit in the winter, but there is still plenty to do. Think shows, museums, shopping, and even outdoor adventures. We are keeping a room warm for you!
Stay warm indoors
Great options for cold or rainy days.
Shows are still running
Many theaters run limited schedules in January and February.
Simple outdoor ideas
Bundle up and take advantage of clearer views and smaller crowds.
Outdoor winter fun
Branson winter days are often mild, but you will still want layers. When the timing is right, you can mix in outdoor fun between your indoor stops.
- Wolfe Mountain has Snowflex tubing that runs year-round, so you can “sled” even without snow.
- Runaway Mountain Coaster is open year-round, and is awesome after dark!
- There are lots of local trails. Winter views can be more open since the trees have dropped their leaves.
- Dogwood Canyon is known for breathtaking views year-round.
- If you like fishing, winter is a good time for trout at Lake Taneycomo and bass on Table Rock Lake.
- Big Cedar often has seasonal ice skating and tubing during the winter months. Check their current dates.
Museums and indoor attractions
If you want to stay warm, Branson has plenty of indoor options, from hands-on attractions to history.
- Titanic Museum Attraction
- Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
- Fritz’s Adventure (great if you want something active indoors)
- Branson Centennial Museum and Veterans Memorial Museum
- Dewey Short Visitor Center at Table Rock Dam (free)
- Talking Rocks Cavern
- Shepherd of the Hills Conservation Education Center and Fish Hatchery (free!)
- Ralph Foster Museum
Shopping days
Shopping is popular year-round, and winter can be a comfortable time to browse without the summer crowds.
- Branson Landing for stores, the waterfront walk, and places to grab a bite
- Tanger Outlets for outlet shopping
- Dick’s 5 & 10 (a classic stop, and one of our favorites)
Winter shows
Branson is still a show town in the winter. Many theaters run a reduced schedule in January, then pick up again as spring approaches.
- Grand Country Music Hall has several show options, including family-friendly choices.
- The Hot Winter Fun Big Show is a winter favorite and is listed for Feb 28, 2026.
- If you want to browse what is running during your dates, use the ExploreBranson events calendar.
- Enjoy tributes to many of your all-time favorite artists starting in February at Legends in Concert.
Warm meals and good coffee
Winter is a great time to enjoy a relaxed meal. Many restaurants stay open, and it is often easier to get seated.
- The Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks for a special meal
- Steamy Joe Cafe (near the inn) for breakfast and lunch
- Local coffee shops are a nice warm-up stop on a cold day
A simple winter plan
Pick one indoor “anchor” each day (a show, a museum, or an attraction). Add a meal you are excited about. If the weather is decent, sprinkle in a short outdoor stop like a trail walk or Wolfe Mountain tubing.
Cozy time at Autumn Creek
Winter is a nice time to relax at the inn. Bring a board game group, have a movie night, or just sit by the fireplace with a hot drink.
- Games, books, and comfy seating in the great room
- Popcorn and snacks are easy to enjoy during a quiet evening
- If the weather is decent, the Ozarks are still pretty for a short walk
