Our Story

A quiet, friendly place where all guests feel welcome and loved.

A special place

We're Mike and Rayne Ethetton, the owners of Autumn Creek Branson, and this is the kind of place we have dreamed about owning for many years.

Not long after we got married, we opened a bed-and-breakfast in our old Victorian home in Richmond, Missouri. Years later, we purchased condos in Branson and began spending more time in the area. Providing hospitality gave us joy, and the dream grew.

We started looking seriously at motels, inns, and resorts. We toured quite a few, but Autumn Creek (formerly Old Southern Inn) stood out.

Part of it was the location. We loved the quiet setting, with quick access to both Silver Dollar City and the shows, dining and attractions on the strip. We also stayed here ourselves, and enjoyed the feeling we got here when returning from a long day.

But the bigger reason was the people who owned it before us. Joe and Carol had cared for guests for more than 30 years, and it showed. They took good care of the property and their guests. The inn felt safe, comfortable and personal, and we knew others would feel the same.

Keeping the heart

When we took over, we did not want to erase what made the inn special - We wanted to protect it.

Our goal has been to keep the safe, peaceful, comfortable feeling guests already loved, while updating and modernizing the property and rooms. We have refreshed rooms, added new details, opened the great room to all and continued making improvements that help the inn feel even more comfortable.

But the heart is still the same: a quiet, friendly place where all guests feel welcome and loved.

We want Autumn Creek to feel personal, with care reflected in every detail our guests experience all throughout their stay. We want it to be a place where you can ask a question, get a real answer, and feel like somebody cares for you.

Our hope

When guests stay with us, we hope you feel cared for and relaxed. We hope Autumn Creek feels like a great location to use as a base while you explore all Branson has to offer.

Rayne often says she wants folks to feel like this is their home away from home. That really is the heart of it. We want to provide a family-friendly environment in a safe, beautiful setting where people can create memories and come back every time they’re in Branson.

We know our guests are not coming to Branson just to sit in a room. You are coming to see shows, enjoy Silver Dollar City and the lakes, hike a trail, eat a great meal, but mostly to spend time with people you love. Our hope is Autumn Creek makes the whole trip feel easier.

A place to gather

One of our favorite parts of Autumn Creek is the Great Room.

We see it as a place where guests can stop by before heading out for the day, ask questions about the area, grab a coffee or other drink, or just relax while waiting for the rest of their group to get ready. Families can pick up a board game to play, grab some popcorn, sit together for a while and enjoy a slower moment between plans.

We love it when guests come by and ask, “What would you recommend?” or “Where should we eat?” or “What should we do with a free afternoon?”

Those conversations are part of what makes this feel like an inn instead of just a place with room numbers. We enjoy helping people make good choices, avoid frustration, and find the parts of Branson that fit their trip.

The Golden Rule

Hospitality is personal to us.

It gives us great joy to care for others. For us, hospitality is an extension of our faith in a simple, practical way. Rayne has two signs hanging in her kitchen: “Love over all” and “Do unto others.” For us, the Golden Rule is more than a sign on the wall. We do our best to treat people the way we would want to be treated.

That means caring about the details, being honest, being kind, and helping when we can. Guests may arrive as strangers, but we hope they leave feeling like someone was truly glad they came.

We could not do it alone

Autumn Creek Inn would not be what it is without our wonderful team.

From Kylee at the front desk, to Angel and Rosie and their housekeeping crew, Perla in the laundry and our long-time maintenance guy George, we are grateful for the people who help care for our guests every day. Guests often tell us, and even post it in reviews, how much they appreciate the kindness of our staff.

That means a lot to us, because kindness is not a small thing. It is one of the main things we hope people remember.

Welcome to Autumn Creek

We are happy to be doing what we are doing, and we look forward to welcoming as you!
